Elena H. Covens spends most of her days trying to find a way to live in books.

But, when her experiments and tests are not happening, she is a mom of one and a Paralegal.

Elena aspires to write characters to fall in love with and worlds to escape to, so that other people, much like herself, can escape for a bit when life gets too crazy.

When she is not writing about romance and adventure, Elena likes spending time with friends while searching for the perfect Caesar (it’s a Canadian thing).

Outside of writing, Elena enjoys spending time with friends on the hunt for the perfect Caesar (it’s a Canadian thing). She's deeply passionate about not-for-profit organizations, particularly those focused on animal rescue. Her time working at a zoo for endangered and rescued wildlife—including animals retired from circuses—sparked a lifelong love for the exotic and the misunderstood. She's had the rare privilege of working closely with lions, tigers, and wolves (oh my!), even hand-feeding and caring for them, and their cubs/pups.

Elena dreams of one day becoming a full-time author and owning a home big enough to foster a variety of animals—especially less-popular exotics that often struggle to find forever homes.

As a Jewish-Canadian author, being only the second in her family born in Canada, she is proud to sprinkle bits of her own background’s folklore into her books. If you have read ‘A Crown of Aconite’, she loved being able to add Golem’s into the mix.
